According to MarkZ, the holdup is that Treasury is scrambling to get out the NEW treasury notes to all the banks before they release the RV. Presumably, these are either gold or asset-backed.

I'm not sure he understands what 'treasury notes' are. They are debt instruments, usually with a one year term, that pay interest twice a year and are backed by the full faith and power of the US economy. There is nothing NEW about them.

And there is nothing on the Treasury site to indicate NEW notes or gold-backed anything.

No RV opportunity until Iraq seats a government. Don't get disappointed, just be patient.
